The BMW R 12 G/S Revives the Timeless Spirit of an Icon

The new BMW R 12 G/S takes inspiration from the legendary R80 G/S of the brand, often considered the first adventure motorcycle.

The BMW R 12 G/S brilliantly reinterprets the icon that is the legendary BMW R 80 G/S, while integrating modern technologies to offer an optimal riding experience. Launched in 1980, the R 80 G/S made history with its boxer engine, defining the concept of a versatile enduro capable of excelling both on-road and off-road. This identity, summarized by the abbreviation G/S (“Gelände / Straße” for terrain and road), remains at the heart of the new R 12 G/S.

The design of the BMW R 12 G/S clearly evokes its off-road heritage with a compact front fork, crossed-spoke wheels, and long suspension travel. Its ergonomics, optimized for off-road riding, include a flat seat available in various configurations: single seat, dual with Passenger Kit, or a Rally version for increased height. The Enduro Pro Pack adds enduro footpegs and an 18-inch rear wheel to maximize off-road performance.

An Enduring Boxer Soul

Its air/oil-cooled boxer engine, synonymous with character and authenticity, delivers 109 hp and a generous 115 Nm torque, equipped with an optimized exhaust system for off-road environments. The BMW R 12 G/S offers three standard riding modes (Rain, Road, Enduro), and an optional Enduro Pro mode for the most demanding adventurers.

On the chassis side, a robust monobloc tubular frame and a fully adjustable inverted fork ensure exceptional stability and agility. The braking system, equipped as standard with ABS Pro, guarantees increased safety even in turns.

Finally, modern LED technology, an optional analog or digital dashboard, and equipment such as the adaptive Headlight PRO enhance the versatility of this motorcycle.

Available from €17,650, the BMW R 12 G/S will be available from June 2025, embodying a perfect evolution of a timeless enduro legend.
