Ovaobike MCRS

Three equivalent 125 models arrive simultaneously. The most powerful can reach nearly 150 km/h.

The Taiwanese manufacturer Ovaobike is starting its offensive in France. It will attempt to establish itself in the small electric motorcycle market, with models sporting a sporty look.

For its debut in France, Ovaobike has chosen to partner with Pink Mobility, which will handle distribution and after-sales service. Since early April, test rides have been organized in the country. Pre-orders have also been opened, but it will be necessary to wait until summer 2022 for the motorcycles to reach showrooms.

A particularly high-performance Ovaobike MCR-S

Ovaobike offers three vehicles homologated in the 125 cc category: the MCR-H, the MCR-M, and the MCR-S.

The most spectacular of the family is undoubtedly the MCR-S. It is also the most powerful, with its engine developing 11 kW nominal and 22 kW peak power. Once the Turbo mode is activated, the MCR-S can reach a maximum speed of 148 km/h. However, riding at such a speed will significantly reduce the range. In theory, it can reach up to 230 km at a constant speed of 50 km/h (manufacturer’s figures). The fixed battery has a capacity of 9.6 kWh. Like all Ovaobike motorcycles, the MCR-S has 14-inch wheels.

The MCR-S cannot carry a passenger, unlike the other two Ovaobike models which are approved for two seats.

The MCR-M also has an 11 kW motor, but the peak power here is limited to 17 kW. It can reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h. The fixed 9.6 kWh battery always offers a theoretical range of 230 km at a steady speed of 50 km/h.

The MCR-H is Ovaobike’s entry-level model. Equipped with a 7 kW motor directly integrated into the rear wheel, it can reach a top speed of 105 km/h. The 4.8 kWh battery is not removable. The range is estimated at 110 km, still at a steady speed of 50 km/h.

As for the price, count on 14,990 euros for the MCR-S. The MCR-M costs 1,000 euros less. Finally, the MCR-H is sold for 9,990 euros.
