Honda surpasses the half-billion mark in motorcycle production!

Honda takes an exceptional step by announcing the cumulative production of 500 million powered two-wheelers.

This world record is achieved 76 years after the production of the legendary Honda Dream Type D in 1949. A milestone that reflects the longevity and success of a brand that has managed, over the decades, to combine innovation, reliability, and performance.

Since its founding in 1948, Honda has aimed to design technologies that make people’s lives easier. This vision has guided the development of products and services tailored to the needs of users around the globe.

A pioneer in international production, Honda opened its first factory abroad in Belgium in 1963. This strategic choice, based on the principle of “producing locally where there is demand”, allowed for rapid expansion worldwide. The numbers speak for themselves: 100 million two-wheelers produced by 1997, 200 million in 2008, 300 million in 2014, and 400 million in 2019. In 2018, Honda even surpassed the milestone of 20 million units produced in a single year.

Solid Through Time

Despite the slowdown caused by the pandemic in 2020, global demand is quickly picking up again. And from 2024, Honda will enter a new era with the launch of an electric two-wheeler range, embodying its concept of “The First Year of Global Expansion”.

With 37 production sites in 23 countries, Honda today offers a wide range from urban utility vehicles to leisure motorcycles, as well as a new generation of electric models. This success is also supported by an international network of over 30,000 distributors.
