In Bali, Electric Motorbikes Escort G20 Members

For Energica, the G20 in Indonesia is an important event both commercially and symbolically.

Indonesia placed an order for 88 fully electric motorcycles for its law enforcement agencies. Through this operation, it aims to reinforce its commitment to rapidly developing electric mobility. The motorcycles are currently used for the G20, which is taking place on November 15 and 16 in Bali. They are used to escort government delegates.

Indonesia has chosen the EsseEsse9+ from the specialist Energica. Powered by an 80 kW motor, this model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. It features a 21.5 kWh battery, which guarantees a theoretical range of 246 km in mixed cycle.

A Nice Win for Energica

Valued at approximately 2 million euros, the order from Indonesian authorities is the largest ever registered by Energica. It comes a few months after the arrival of the American company Ideanomics, which acquired a majority stake in the electric motorcycle manufacturer.

The funds invested by the new owner are intended to finance both the development of the sales network and the increase of production capacities. A new division called “Energica Inside” has also been created to expand commercial activities. It develops components and powertrains for third-party companies. This entity is not limited to two-wheelers but aims at the entire transportation sector, whether land, maritime, or aerial.

In the immediate future, Energica must focus on launching its new Experia. In France, this electric trail costs from €30,708. It will compete directly with the Zero Motorcycles DSR/X.
