Tesla activates its artificial brain Grok!

The AI-powered voice assistant is gradually arriving in European Teslas, with France included in the first deployment.

The integration of Grok into Tesla vehicles marks a new step in the evolution of the automotive user interface. Developed by xAI, the artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk, the conversational assistant is beginning its gradual rollout on the Old Continent through a recent software update. Unlike traditional voice assistants integrated in the brand’s vehicles until now, Grok is based on a generative AI model capable of understanding queries formulated in natural language and responding in a contextualized manner.

France is indeed part of the first wave of countries affected, alongside Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy. However, as is often the case with Tesla, the deployment occurs in successive waves, meaning that not all drivers see the feature appear simultaneously. Access depends not only on the software version installed in the vehicle but also on the hardware configuration. Currently, models equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor are the main beneficiaries of this new feature.

Functionally, Grok can answer general questions, explain certain vehicle functions, or assist with navigation by suggesting destinations and charging stops. However, it does not completely replace the historical voice commands dedicated to direct adjustments such as air conditioning or media management. It is more of an advanced conversational layer that enhances the existing experience rather than a complete substitute.
