Electric cars are selling more and more in France, and charging stations are also multiplying.
It’s now Engie Viaeno’s turn to get involved in charging stations on French roads. Today, there are nearly 1,000 Engie Vianeo charging points across the country. The goal is to offer 12,000 before 2025.
Starting in June, electric vehicle drivers will gradually discover the brand ENGIE Vianeo, which is deployed at the first 1,000 operational charging points spread throughout France:
- more than 800 charging points on the highway networks APRR, SANEF, Vinci Autoroutes, ESSO (Certas Energy France);
- 35 Indigo parking lots in 20 French cities;
- on-street in the Strasbourg EuroMetropole, the Epinal Agglomeration Community, and the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis;
- parking lots of hundreds of hotels B&B HOTELS and Norauto sites.
Support close to consumers
In addition to offering charging stations, the company offers an app that allows users to locate the nearest charging station from their current location. The availability of charging points will also be displayed on the app and the website. This app closely resembles what Tesla or Chargemap already offer.
Engie announced the price per kWh
Engie Vianeo has charging stations at its partner ESSO’s stations. Two prices are available for electric vehicle charging.
At Engie stations, the price per kWh (up to 300 kW) will be €0.57, compared to €0.69 at its partner ESSO. It is not particularly competitive, with other discount providers offering better rates, such as Carrefour.
Customers benefit from a simple experience, with three payment methods to choose from:
- The mobile app, by scanning the QR code on the station;
- The contactless bank card;
- An electric recharge card, called “Ma Carte de Recharge**” from ENGIE Vianeo.
- Finally, the electricity offered is 100% green, produced from renewable energy sources (hydropower, wind, and solar).
Engie Vianeo is arriving at a time when electric stations are multiplying in France. The country has just exceeded the threshold of 100,000 charging stations.
