Dreaming of a PlayStation? Buy a car!
What if Sony’s next Playstation connected not under your TV, but on the dashboard of a car?
With Afeela, Sony and Honda take a new step in the hybridization between automotive, technology, and entertainment. Their future electric vehicle becomes the first production model to officially integrate PlayStation Remote Play, allowing users to play PS4 and PS5 games… from the cabin.

Developed by Sony Honda Mobility Inc., Afeela focuses on a very advanced digital experience. Its embedded multimedia system will allow the owner’s personal PlayStation library to be streamed directly to the panoramic dashboard screen or to the screens integrated into the rear headrests. The principle is simple: games are not stored in the car, but streamed from the PlayStation console left at home, just like with the PlayStation Portal.
A system to optimize
With the DualSense controller in hand, natively connected via Bluetooth, passengers can enjoy haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, signatures of the PS5. However, for obvious safety reasons, front occupants will only be able to play when the vehicle is stationary or charging. Thus, the Afeela does not turn the driver into a gamer at the wheel, but rather transforms the car into a multimedia lounge on wheels.
This integration does, however, have its limitations. PS Remote Play relies entirely on the console left at home, which must be on and connected to the internet. The quality of the experience also depends on network stability: Sony recommends a speed of at least 15 Mbps, with a wired connection for the console to avoid latency, interruptions, and graphical degradation. This is not cloud gaming, but rather a remote mirror of the personal console.
