BMW M2

More power, customization possibilities, and innovations in the BMW M2, but a prohibitive penalty.

BMW presents a new version of its M2, a true concentration of sportiness with an increased maximum power of 15 kW/20 hp. Still available with either a standard 8-speed M automatic transmission or an optional 6-speed manual gearbox, the high-performance compact receives new standard equipment, new steering wheels, and interior trim.

The appearance of the little speedster does not change radically, and most of the improvements are found inside the cabin with a new flat-bottomed steering wheel, a red marker at 12 o’clock, and stitching in BMW M colors. Its Alcantara equivalent is available as an option. The dashboard has been modernized with redesigned central and side air vents, while the new BMW OS 8.5 operating system with Augmented Reality guidance takes place in the central screen or instrument cluster. Exterior modifications are limited to new body colors, decorative inserts, and a wider choice of wheel styles.

A sporty BMW, a real one!

The power of the inline six-cylinder engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology is therefore increased to 480 hp. Its pairing with a 6-speed manual gearbox featuring the “Gear Shift Assistant” (automatic heel-toe) makes it a UFO in an automotive world that is becoming increasingly tame and refined. Its arrival in dealerships is scheduled for August 2024 at a base price of 84,700 euros.

So why should French fans of the propeller brand deprive themselves of this little gem of sportiness? With CO2 emissions of 223 – 218 g/km for the automatic version and 231 – 226 g/km for the manual variant, the M2 inherits a penalty of 60,000 euros! Unfortunately, this could clip its wings.
