This Porsche is one of a kind in the world

Porsche 911 Speedster LT

Let’s take a moment away from the world of electrified cars for a little enchanted interlude thanks to Porsche and this 911 Speedster.

The term Speedster first appeared at Porsche in 1954. Since then, these models, featuring a lowered windshield and aerodynamic soft top cover, have delighted every generation of the 911. Every generation? Well, not exactly, since no Speedster from the fourth iteration of the 911, the Type 993, was included in Porsche’s official archives. This gap was filled in 1995 specifically for Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, and again in 2001 for American actor Jerry Seinfeld. A third example has been added to this gallery of exceptions at the initiative of designer Luca Trazzi, a great Porsche enthusiast and Speedster collector.

It took three years to bring this unique car to life based on the 1994 911 Carrera Cabriolet Type 993. From the windshield to the characteristic rear soft top cover, it strictly adheres to the Speedster spirit. This has made it one of the attractions of the Monterey Car Week, which took place last week in California.

But when creating such a car for such a client, one must be willing to work with them, not just for them. The experts from Sonderwunsch, the customization branch of Porsche that was born in the 1970s, were certainly surprised to see their client arrive with his own project notebook, along with sketches and drafts of this project, of which he had a very clear idea. Clear enough to translate his vision of a personal and unique Speedster from paper to reality. The Italian took customization to the smallest details, as evidenced by the yellow paint developed specifically for him. Its name is very personal, as this “Otto Yellow” is a tribute… to Luca Trazzi’s dog named Otto. For the first time on a Porsche 911 Type 993, the door sill plates are illuminated, in “Otto Yellow,” of course, and bear an individual Speedster LT logo with the owner’s initials.

This yellow is also found on the 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels with Turbo design and on the carbon seats that feature a yellow and black check pattern. Proof of the attention to detail that has motivated the design teams, this color appears even in the luggage compartment, on the car cover, and the ultimate chic touch, on the travel bag lovingly gifted to the lucky owner.
