The Seat Arona discounted to the price of a Renault Twingo (also discounted)

With a discounted price of 26%, the Seat Arona goes from €20,990 to €15,490, which is almost the price of the smallest Renault Twingo at €15,397.

The major commercial offensive has begun in these early days of the 2nd quarter of 2024. The dynamics of January-February-March are now known, and it is now up to the manufacturers to adjust if necessary.

At Renault, light discounts are being applied, which are certainly welcome. The Renault Twingo Equilibre SCe 65 in stock drops from €17,300 to €15,397, which is just under €2,000 in savings. Nowadays, finding a reasonably equipped city car for under €15,000 is almost mission impossible.

The Seat Arona at a completely crazy price?

Once this premise is known, one can better grasp the commercial effort made by Seat for its Arona Edition: €5,500 off! And we are not talking here about a city car uncomfortable outside of urban areas, but rather the upper segment. That is to say, more comfortable, more spacious, more practical in terms of trunk space, with better active and passive safety, etc.

It’s the same regarding the mechanics: 65 horsepower for the Twingo, 95 horsepower for the Arona.

The €93 difference between the Renault Twingo and the Seat Arona should make you think! And indeed, by reflecting, one realizes that the French model, less fuel-hungry, is exempt from eco-tax. In contrast, the Spanish model, with 123 g/km of CO2, will incur a €170 charge, which ultimately raises the differential between the two rivals to €263. This remains very reasonable.
