Mercedes CLE Faithful to the Convertible Top

With the new CLE Cabriolet, Mercedes continues its long tradition of four-seater dream cars with a convertible roof.

Based on the CLE Coupé model, the new CLE Cabriolet combines dynamic driving features with a high level of comfort to enjoy the “open air” all year round, thanks in particular to an innovative acoustic soft top. It is available to order immediately from dealers in France starting at €74,650 for a launch on the French market in the second quarter of 2024.

The AIRCAP electric wind deflector system and the IRSCARF neck heating system are part of the standard equipment and make open-air driving more enjoyable when outdoor temperatures are cool. AIRCAP consists of two elements: the wind deflector located on the windshield deploys at the push of a button and directs airflow above the passengers’ heads. The automatic rear deflector behind the rear headrests more effectively reduces turbulence. AIRSCARF produces an even warmer airflow around the neck and throat of front-seat occupants, even in adverse wind conditions.

The fabric acoustic soft top, standard on all models, also contributes to the usability of the CLE Cabriolet all year round. It is available in black, red, or gray. The multi-layer structure with enhanced insulation guarantees optimal thermal comfort in all seasons. It also reduces wind and driving noise. The soft top opens and closes in 20 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/h.

But a cabriolet also has to face summer heat. To prevent the optional leather seats from overheating in summer, they are equipped with a special coating that reflects near-infrared rays from the sun. As a result, the leather remains up to 12 degrees cooler in the full sun compared to untreated standard leather.
