Renault Austral: Its Facelift Leaks Online

As the Automotive World Cup approaches, the restyled version of the Renault Austral has already leaked online, revealing a bolder design.

Launched in 2022, the Renault Austral is set to undergo a facelift scheduled for 2025. However, the revelation of this information occurred earlier than anticipated following a bug in Renault’s smartphone app, where the visual had already been updated.

Visually, the Austral will adopt design elements from the Renault Rafale, especially in the front end with revised headlights and grille. The new lighting signatures will include vertical daytime running lights that descend into the bumper, a notable change to align the model with trends seen in other SUVs from the brand, like the Scenic. It is observed that the grille adopts the diamond graphic gimmick. Not a bad idea.

Under the hood, the engine options are expected to remain the same or be slightly modified, including hybrid versions such as a 130-horsepower 1.2 micro-hybrid 48V engine, as well as a more powerful 200-horsepower hybrid version. The interior will maintain two 12-inch screens with integrated Google infotainment, offering a high-end technological experience with no major changes compared to the current model. This facelift aims to keep the Austral competitive against rivals like the Peugeot 3008.

Big discounts on the horizon?

When there’s a restyling, expect big discounts on existing stock to clear it out. Now that you have this information, and if the new version doesn’t excite you, unlike the first generation, use this argument to negotiate lower prices. Currently, discounts are approaching 30% with prices starting around 32,000 euros. Going below the 30,000 euro mark seems like a target worth aiming for!
