Not so sexy anymore, the Mitsubishi Space Star is now worth only €14,000

Not easy to exist in a market saturated by the more modern and appealing European competition for the serious Mitsubishi Space Star.

It’s not simple when building a new commercial range with rebadged Renault Clio and Captur (respectively Colt and ASX), to continue to engage customers with other aging products that were historically designed for Asia.

This is the case with the very serious Mitsubishi Space Star, whose design, strictly speaking, does not lend itself to criticism in terms of reliability. But when it comes to boldness and modernity, we’ll have to look elsewhere.

Firstly, this Space Star is therefore not aimed at car “lovers” for whom enjoyment is already visual. Rather, it targets those looking for a reliable and inexpensive vehicle for everyday commuting. A vehicle that is also versatile and won’t attract envy or car part theft, the major plague of the moment.

Under 15,000 euros!

Let’s be factual: a slightly sexier Dacia Sandero is even cheaper if you’re looking for a serious budget solution. Nevertheless, the Mitsubishi Space Star in Inform trim (we won’t check the definition in the dictionary…) now presented at 14,010 euros certainly has its arguments:

• Air conditioning
• Electric front windows
• Height-adjustable driver’s seat
• Electric exterior mirrors
• No environmental tax
• 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, which is 20,000 km/year

The model on display even offers a Red Wine metallic paint for an additional 600 euros, meaning that if we refer to the catalog price, the discount offered by Mitsubishi reaches 2,080 euros. Not unpleasant for an initially inexpensive car.

Still, rallying the crowds will not be easy, especially since the dealership network remains relatively underdeveloped in France.
