Mitsubishi is set to launch two new… Renault models!

Mitsubishi presents us with an interesting little game. Try to guess which is the next Renault model to be rebadged!

Since the announcement of the arrival of the new Outlander, we have been dreaming of Mitsubishi returning to its role as a car manufacturer, rather than a dealer of reinvented models. In addition to the Outlander, the Japanese brand also has the Mitsubishi ASX which is a non-hybrid Renault Captur and therefore more expensive, and the Mitsubishi Colt launched in October 2023 based on a freshly restyled Renault Clio. Apart from the diamond logo on the front grille and the steering wheel, and a Mitsubishi badge on the trunk, the similarities between the alliance models are absolutely undeniable. Let’s at least commend the effort made with a little aesthetic customization on the front end and the light signatures.

We already know that Mitsubishi is preparing to launch its first 100% electric model, which will be a Renault Scenic. No mystery, this has been announced for a long time. More surprisingly, Mitsubishi will introduce a second C-segment SUV in the 2025 fiscal year as a complement to this 100% electric vehicle. The brand specifies that this new SUV will be equipped with gasoline (ICE) and full hybrid (HEV) engines. And what have we just seen arrive at Renault this year? The Symbioz, a beautiful C-segment SUV with thermal and hybrid powertrains.

This time, the game was a bit easy, but we suggest making it a bit more challenging. What could this model be called? It seems difficult not to find a new name for the 100% electric model that will mark a true break in Mitsubishi’s history. However, for a model featuring an internal combustion engine, electrified or not, we could easily resurrect a model from the past. Come on, let’s take a bet. Does Pajero ring a bell?
