Lexus LBX: The New Luxury SUV Available in 2024

The Lexus brand unveils today its new LBX SUV for the European market. Available in four versions, it aims to appeal to a new generation.

Lexus is gradually renewing its vehicle lineup to meet the demand for luxury in the era of electric and hybrid vehicles. Thus, the Japanese brand releases a new SUV, the Lexus LBX (Lexus Breakthrough Crossover), designed for customers who want to combine driving comfort with fuel efficiency.

The Lexus LBX SUV meets this demand with four interior trims offering various infotainment and seating options. Additionally, the Lexus LBX is equipped with a 1.5-liter, 136 hp/100kW self-recharging hybrid engine. The front grille has been redesigned to give it a new visual identity, more dynamic and sporty.

The Lexus LBX is a small SUV. It measures 4.19 meters long, 1.82 meters wide, and 1.54 meters high. Its overall size makes it suitable for the European market, which is the primary target for this new Lexus model.

Currently, no prices are available for this model, but production is expected to start at the end of 2023!

Details of the new Lexus LBX SUV

In terms of design, Lexus aims to highlight its new interior through reworked visibility and a new dashboard. Indeed, the SUV offers a wider view by raising the seats and changing the shape of the hood. Thus, the driver can better see the road through the vehicle.

Furthermore, the vehicle’s dashboard is adapted for an improved driving experience. Behind the steering wheel, the driver can benefit from a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, with the option to add a head-up display, allowing real-time speed reading on the road. To the right of the driver, there is a central console featuring a 9.8-inch touchscreen, USB ports, and two cupholders, offering comfort for the driver and passengers.

Outside, the vehicle features a new front grille symbolizing a new visual identity for the brand. The headlight blocks incorporate both turn signals and daytime running lights. They will now also be oriented outward to better follow the vehicle’s lines.

Four finishes are available for the new Lexus: Elegant, Relax, Cool, and Emotion. The differences mainly lie in the seat upholstery and wheels. Details of each finish are available on the Lexus website.

Lexus promises a new driver assistance system called “Lexus Safety System+”. This includes “pre-collision safety system with intersection detection, adaptive cruise control, advanced lane keeping assist, and automatic traffic sign reading.”
