Toyota Presents the Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition

As a preamble to the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, Toyota unveiled a sports concept car of its new Prius as a tribute to the great French race.
A few days ago, we mentioned the repositioning of the 5th generation Toyota Prius. It seems that we were not mistaken with the reveal, as a very sporty version of the Prius was unveiled as a curtain-raiser for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 10-11, 2023). Named Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition, this concept car aims to pay tribute to a race that was, for decades, an unattainable dream. Today, that dream is crowned with five overall wins with hybrid prototypes.

Primarily a styling exercise, this Prius is equipped with aerodynamic elements “inspired” by the Hypercar GT010 Hybrid engaged this year. Notably, there are fins on the front bumper, side skirts, a rear wing, a segmented diffuser, a carbon front hood, ultra-powerful LED lights for better night vision, a “track” suspension with widened tracks, and larger wheels (235/50R18) whose design closely resembles that of the race car.
Will this Prius 24h LeMans Centennial GR Edition have a commercial version? Sadly, this is unlikely, but a more assertive GR version in look would be a logical continuation of Prius’s repositioning in the market.
