Suzuki Swace: The Hybrid Wagon Steals the Show

The Suzuki Swace features several updates. The most significant new feature concerns the hybrid powertrain, which has increased in power.

Suzuki has just announced a new version of the Swace. In terms of styling, the changes are barely noticeable. The hybrid estate simply gains chrome inserts on the rear, as well as headlights with a redesigned architecture. These, however, are reserved for the Pack trim. Inside, the instrument cluster has been updated. The 8-inch touchscreen is also new. The infotainment system, which previously only supported Android Auto, now also supports Apple CarPlay. The smartphone screen duplication is wireless. This update also introduces a range of new driver assistance features. For example, the Swace now offers a pre-collision system with detection of vehicles, motorcycles, cyclists, and pedestrians. In Pack trim, it also gains alerts for cyclist and vehicle detection upon door opening.

A Vitamin Boost for the Swace Hybrid Powertrain

A few months after the Toyota Corolla, which is nearly or exactly identical to it, Suzuki’s Swace also sees its hybrid system’s power increase from 122 to 140 hp. This gain is achieved thanks to a new electric generator that, in addition to being more powerful, is also lighter. According to Suzuki, the car can now run slightly longer in full electric mode. Fuel consumption is rated at 4.6 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions at 104 grams per km (WLTP cycle). The 196 hp hybrid system available on the restyled Corolla is not offered on the Swace.

The latest model year of the Suzuki Swace is already available to order. Prices start at €32,750 for the Prestige trim and rise to €34,250 for the Swace Pack.
