After the launch of the new Fiat 600e at the end of 2023, the Italian manufacturer today announces the opening of orders for the 600 Hybrid.
The hybrid engine will be offered in two trim levels: the New Fiat 600 Hybrid La Prima, the most exclusive version, and the New Fiat 600 Hybrid, the most affordable version.
This electrified 600 is built around a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder internal combustion engine that can deliver up to 100 hp. The electrical energy is supplied by a 48-volt Li-ion battery. The new 6-speed dual-clutch electric transmission integrates a 21 kW electric motor, the inverter, and the transmission control unit. The entire powertrain unit is thus optimized for compactness.
Electricity for Comfort
The additional electrical power improves torque at low RPM and during acceleration, providing the driver with a silent start and quick response. This technology also allows energy recovery when the vehicle decelerates.
Fiat did not aim to develop a high-performance vehicle; proof of this is the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 10.9 seconds. This powertrain is characterized by nearly instant torque supplied by the electric motor, ensuring immediate responsiveness with each press on the accelerator pedal. Perfect behavior for urban use, with constant stop-and-go traffic.
The electric supply can also be used for the e-creeping function, which allows a series of short forward movements without pressing the accelerator, for example in traffic jams. The car can also be parked in 100% electric mode, either in drive or reverse.
An everyday Fiat
The Fiat 600 Hybrid offers generous dimensions with a length of 4.17 meters, 5 doors, 5 seats, and 15 liters of interior storage. Although not exceptional, the trunk provides a generous loading capacity of 385 liters.
From today, the New 600 Hybrid 100 hp is available to order in France starting at 24,900 euros. The first deliveries are scheduled for June 2024. A version with 136 hp will complete the hybrid engine line-up and will be available for order before summer 2024.
