Here is what the 4 million euro Bugatti Tourbillon hides

Hybrid V16 engine, 1,800 horsepower and 445 kilometers/hour. The exceptional Bugatti Tourbillon reveals its chassis.

In the fourth episode of the documentary series “A New Era”, Bugatti unveils one of the centerpieces that makes the Tourbillon a true work of art and a precursor to the future generation of the brand’s hypersport vehicles. It is an entirely new carbon platform, an exceptional chassis of rigidity and lightness. Carefully designed, it perfectly illustrates Bugatti’s quest for technical excellence and lays the foundation for the numerous variations of the model to come.

This new platform features an innovative powertrain, combining a naturally aspirated V16 engine with three electric motors. This combination, a true technical feat, was made possible thanks to the new architecture, which allowed for optimal integration of each component. At the front, five of the eight radiators are cleverly positioned to maximize cooling. Two of them direct air toward the engine, while the others, fed by Bugatti’s famous horseshoe grille, cool the cabin and electrical components.

Located behind the luggage compartment, the front electric axle, consisting of two 250 kW motors, ensures all-wheel drive with dynamic torque distribution. This vectoring system distributes torque to each front wheel as needed.

At the heart of the new architecture is a T-shaped battery that contributes to the very structure of the monocoque chassis. Positioned centrally for a perfect balance, this 24 kWh battery offers over 60 km of range in 100% electric mode. The entire concept is based on an optimized architecture with a fixed driving position and an adjustable pedal box, thus reducing height and weight while improving performance.

At the rear of the vehicle, the powerful naturally aspirated V16 engine, paired with a third electric motor, illustrates Bugatti’s new approach to technical design. By moving this engine closer to the driver while optimizing the vehicle’s length, the engineers managed to balance proportions while maximizing interior space.
