Fiat Panda 4×4: Soon a Restomod Version (Video)?

Here’s a news story that will delight nostalgic fans of the Fiat Panda 4×4. An Italian company is about to unveil a modern and stylish version of the iconic city car.

Produced in over 5.5 million units over 23 years (1983 – 2003), the first-generation Fiat Panda conquered the world. Ultra-compact yet spacious. Robust and easy to maintain, it also brought joy to mountain enthusiasts, thanks to an astonishingly versatile 4×4 version. All at an ultra-competitive price.

The subsequent generations have retained its fantastic features, but have never managed to maintain its beloved status. Addressing these nostalgic fans, the firm Inglourious Basterds Cycles (this is not a joke) focused on a Restomod concept, paying homage to the legendary Panda. Specializing in motorcycle customization, the Italian company based in San Giuseppe imagined a very rugged P4nd4 4×4 Restomod Hybrid, which also resembles a Lada Niva 4×4.

A rather successful blend that stands out with its large 15-inch wheels, ideal for off-road adventures, and a ground clearance of over 40 cm. Its off-road capabilities should shine thanks to the setup entrusted to the specialist GB Assetti s.r.l.

Mechanical Disappointment

Aboard, the experience is far from the simplicity of the original Panda, with an interior that favors modernity, including the presence of two large touchscreen displays. No central rearview mirror, but a camera. Modern!

It’s in the mechanical chapter that some disappointment can be hidden. No fully electric or plug-in hybrid engine. The P4nd4 4×4 Restomod Hybrid relies on a 5-speed manual or sequential gearbox, but most notably adopts the 1.2-litre mild-hybrid engine from the current Fiat 500. However, it has been modified to develop around 90 hp.

The manufacturer is already taking pre-orders for their restomod, with an initial series of 10 units. Still, at 58,000 euros per unit, the total cost is significant.
