Cupra announces its latest addition in a prestigious setting

The highly anticipated Cupra Terramar will make its first public appearance at the oldest sporting competition.

On September 3rd, alongside the launch of the 37^th edition of the America’s Cup, Cupra will unveil the Terramar. A land and sea model described as delightful, reflecting the blend of thermal and electric powertrains. This electrified sports SUV adopts the brand’s new design language, which is decidedly focused on a more dynamic approach. It also incorporates the new generation of eHybrid technology and advanced digitalization while improving driving performance.

A Consensus Cupra?

2024 marks the beginning of Cupra’s largest product offensive to date with the launch of new models. Following the Tavascan, the brand’s second 100% electric model, and the new versions of its Leon and Formentor models, the Terramar will have the heavy task of taking the place of the perfect compromise vehicle in the lineup. While electric car sales are stagnating, hybrids are on the rise. Mixed models that reassure thermal enthusiasts and allow them to transition smoothly into the world of electrification. Now free from the oversight of its big sister Seat, Cupra has the freedom to define its own strategy and is thoroughly enjoying itself, thus far without major missteps.

As the official car of the 37^th edition of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup, the Cupra Terramar will be presented at a special event, in the official exhibition center of the competition, located in the historic IMAX building at Port Vell, Barcelona. Additionally, on the occasion of the premiere of his latest film, renowned director and brand ambassador J.A. Bayona will join CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths to provide a surprise for attendees.
