On the eve of the departure of the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari unveiled a unique version of the 296, the Speciale Piloti.
Reserved for clients engaged in the brand’s competition or track programs, this configuration pays tribute to Ferrari’s successes in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), notably the victories at Le Mans in 2023 and 2024 with the 499P.

Officially unveiled at the Sarthe circuit, this special edition is part of Ferrari’s Tailor Made program, designed to offer extensive customization. It draws direct inspiration from the world of endurance racing and the aesthetics of the 499P. Four colors are offered: Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring. The livery features distinctive elements: hand-painted WEC logo, Italian flag on the front, and a customizable number. The displayed model had the number 51, referencing the winners of the 2023 edition: Pier Guidi, Calado, and Giovinazzi.

The interior is designed with a competitive spirit, featuring thermoformed black Alcantara seats and fireproof fabric inserts, identical to those used for racing suits. The number chosen by the client is reflected on the carbon fiber elements inside. The metal pedal set is customizable, and the car is equipped with a carbon identification plate and dedicated door sills.

On a technical level, the Ferrari 296 Speciale is a radical evolution of the 296 GTB. Its plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 120° twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor, delivering a total output of 880 hp. The thermal engine, lightweight and reinforced, incorporates components derived from Formula 1. The 8-speed dual-clutch transmission features an optimized shifting strategy. The chassis, aerodynamics, and weight have been revised for improved circuit performance. The result: a compact, powerful model designed for (wealthy) driving enthusiasts.
