A Budget Update for the Jeep Avenger

Despite an ambitious speech, the new Jeep Avenger settles for minor evolutions and slight aesthetic touches.

Jeep presents its “new” Avenger, but one really has to search for the differences. Two years after its successful launch in Europe, the small urban SUV gets an extremely subtle restyling, designed more to rekindle communication about the model than to actually transform it.

At first glance, the changes are minimal. The front end receives a backlit grille inspired by the Compass, the bumpers evolve slightly, and new wheels appear in the catalog. Two new shades also complete the palette. In short, nothing that disrupts the already familiar style of this compact SUV.

Introduction of a budget version

Inside, the observation is the same. Jeep announces an improvement in perceived quality with some more flattering materials and new trims. The equipment progresses timidly with the arrival of Matrix LED headlights and a 360° camera. Appreciable additions, but far from revolutionary in a market where these technologies are rapidly becoming mainstream.

Under the hood, the strategy remains just as cautious. The electric, e-Hybrid, and 4xe hybrid versions are carried over without major evolution. The main novelty concerns the arrival of a 100 hp Turbo petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. An offer primarily aimed at maintaining an attractive entry price in the range. With this version, the range now starts from €25,590 or €219/month (after an initial payment of €3,300, LLD for 49 months and 40,000 km).

Jeep is also betting on a special series “85th Anniversary” to create a bit of commercial excitement. Specific logos, golden touches, tartan upholstery, and a few additional features compose this anniversary trim.

Ultimately, this new Jeep Avenger is more of a marketing refresh than a true restyling. A simple mid-life facelift to continue riding on the commercial success of the brand’s best-selling SUV in Europe.
