Ferrari Makes Fun of Donald Trump

Faced with the tax hikes imposed by Donald Trump on imported cars, Ferrari responds by increasing its prices!

At Ferrari, they really aren’t afraid of taking risks. In response to the 25% tariffs on European car imports imposed by Donald Trump, the Italian manufacturer decided to react… by raising its prices in the United States by up to 10%! After all, when you make cars that inspire dreams and sell an experience rather than just a product, who could resist, even with a few extra zeros?

The legendary brand with the prancing horse announced this increase for certain models starting April 2nd. However, the Ferrari 296, SF90, and Roma models will be exempt from this hike. For the others, prices will be increased by between €25,000 and €324,000 depending on the range. A small change for luxury enthusiasts, isn’t it?

The Ferrari Anomaly

By explaining this choice, Ferrari sends a strong message to the American president: “We know your voters will still buy them.” And honestly, it’s hard to contradict that assurance. In 2024, Ferrari sold 13,752 cars worldwide, including 3,452 in the United States, their largest market. Clearly, the Italian dream is still running smoothly across the Atlantic.

But Ferrari can afford it because it is a true exception in the industry. European mass-market manufacturers don’t have that luxury. Mercedes, Volkswagen, BMW, and their ilk rely on much tighter margins and a much higher volume. As a result, their stocks plummeted after the pricing announcement. While Ferrari rose slightly by 2%, the rest of the sector went red, with declines of up to 4%.

Ultimately, Ferrari continues on its path, unaffected by turbulence, while its European competitors navigate troubled waters. As for American customers? They have the president they deserve, and if they still want a Ferrari, it will cost them a little more.
