Ferrari ends the Carlos Sainz journey in the most beautiful way by dedicating him an incredible custom-made Daytona SP3. A personalized farewell gift that marks the end of a fruitful collaboration spanning four seasons, 88 Grand Prix, four wins, and 25 podiums. Featuring a dark gray livery with a thin red central stripe and carbon fiber finishes, this supercar was revealed and handed over to its happy owner at the official Ferrari dealership in Monaco. It bears the signature of the Spanish driver, his lucky number 55, and the inscription “Smooth Operator,” his nickname.

This is not the only gift Ferrari gave to the Madrilenian as he recently spent a day on the manufacturer’s private Fiorano circuit with his father, a double World Champion WRC. Sainz senior and junior took seats in two F1-75 cars from 2022 for some laps. Though he raced a Formula 1 car about twenty years ago, the rally champion found his rhythm after a few spins. Carlos Sainz Jr. was invited to re-immerse himself in the car that delivered his first Formula 1 victory at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, in 2022. This was followed by a few father-son laps in a farewell parade-like scene.

With its lines inspired by prototypes from the 1960s and its cutting-edge technology, the Daytona SP3 is a tribute to Ferrari’s glorious past. For Carlos Sainz, it represents a chapter in his career, while also symbolizing a new step in his professional journey. It remains to be seen whether the magic will happen under Williams colors, his new challenge.
