The future Citroën Ami, set to be commercialized in 2025, adopts a new, more mature face, highlighted by a new gaze.

65,000 customers have already been tempted by the Citroën AMI. Who could have predicted a few years ago that a permit-free vehicle would attract audiences beyond the children of wealthy Parisian neighborhoods, bad drivers deprived of a license, and those who simply never wanted or could obtain one?

No mystery here, as Citroën has simply managed to offer a joyful, playful, visually appealing, intelligent vehicle that is, to top it all off, 100% electric. An affordable and innovative quadricycle, usable in certain countries from the age of 14, safe, protected from the weather, capable of accommodating 2 people, easy to handle, not exceeding 45 km/h, and boasting a range of 75 km, which is largely compatible with the needs of micromobility. Would you prefer to see your daughter Natalia or your son Elio, who is only 14, at the wheel of a scooter or behind the wheel of an Ami? A success story is never the result of chance, but rather the reward for good work. If only the brand with the chevrons could take inspiration from this for its licensed cars…

The friend of cities

While its size remains the same as the current version, the new Ami changes its front and rear faces and takes the opportunity to wink at its illustrious predecessor, the 2 CV, by adopting grooves on its wings that sign the bodywork. Its headlights, now surrounded by black, have been raised to the base of the windshield to give a more expressive new gaze. They are connected by a new raised capsule in the mold, forming a lovely smile.

Symmetry remains the fundamental element of the Ami’s design. It is the key to cost control, as the sloped plane under the windshield is mirrored under the rear window, and the doors and wings are of identical dimensions at the front and rear. This is how a starting price of less than 8,000 euros is achieved, offering a solution for mobility that is both intelligent and appealing.
