With Zeekr, you’ll impress in a van

Zeekr launched the commercialization of its MCV MIX this week and is officially aiming for deployment in Europe.

Zeekr, the premium brand of the Chinese group Geely, is known for its sporty models X and 001, including the formidable Zeekr 001 FR which develops 1,265 horsepower (931 kW) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.2 seconds thanks to Launch Control. This road monster was developed by none other than 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi “Iceman” Räikkönen. So, it’s a surprise to see the manufacturer set foot on the electric MPV market!

The vehicle combines the best features since the revolutionary Renault Espace. Front and rear sliding doors, swiveling front seats, and unmatched interior space turn the Zeekr Mix into a smart living room on wheels. A concept that is currently popular among automakers as customers are increasingly concerned about onboard comfort in their quiet electric vehicles.

The front and rear sliding doors provide “walk-in” access, and the interior space is optimized thanks to the rectangular body and a 3-meter wheelbase. The front seats rotate and recline to 270° to transform, while stationary, the cabin into a cozy and friendly space.

The Zeekr Mix was developed on the new SEA-M platform used for the 001 and X models. SEA-M demonstrates the incredible modularity of these new 100% electric platforms. It can support a wide range of applications, including robotaxis and utility vehicles. Another sign of versatility, this 800V architecture can accommodate two types of batteries. One is a 76 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack offering a range of 550 kilometers, and the other is a 102 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) unit with a range exceeding 700 kilometers. Both can be recharged from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.

Nothing has yet been officially announced for Europe, but we know that Volvo, which belongs to the same group as Zeekr, aims to quickly offer a 100% electric MPV. Seems like perfect timing, doesn’t it?
