With Quintessenza, Italdesign makes a strong and right impression

Successfully combining a modern yet realistic design with innovative technologies is a remarkable achievement signed by Italdesign.

The Quintessenza concept by Italdesign was first presented in the United States at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2024. It is now returning in a more refined version that the designer promises to be drivable! This vehicle is particularly interesting because it manages to combine a modern design with truly promising technological proposals. It is not just another futuristic concept car, but a project that highlights expertise in mobility, notably through Italdesign’s American subsidiary based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

One notable aspect of the Quintessenza is its partnership with Elaphe, a specialist in “In Wheel” electric motors placed directly in the rim. By equipping the vehicle with this technology, Italdesign manages to improve performance, power, and flexibility while adding a touch of innovation to driving.

The design philosophy of the Quintessenza is characterized by its human-centered approach. The vehicle claims to embody values of freedom, sportiness, and versatility, while integrating an elegant and functional Italian style. It combines on four wheels the characteristics of a high-performance supercar and those of a rugged off-road pickup, reinventing traditional automotive proportions with flowing lines and bold architecture. On paper, all the ingredients seem to form an unappetizing recipe—but surprisingly, it works really well! Inside, there’s a minimalist approach with discreetly integrated technology and simple, intuitive interfaces, all while allowing customization of the driving experience via a smartphone app.
