Only a sports electric car could fit,” explains director Christian Gudegast. Convinced by his research, Gudegast integrated the Taycan into the script early on, even before securing Porsche’s approval.
The Taycan Turbo impressed not only with its futuristic design but also with its technical capabilities. It made history as the first 100% electric car used for stunts in a chase scene in Hollywood. Porsche supplied five modified vehicles, including a “pod car” equipped with a control capsule on the roof. This setup allowed a stunt driver to operate the vehicle, keeping actors free to focus on their performances.
To meet the film’s requirements, Porsche engineers reprogrammed the software and adapted the sensors for spectacular stunts, such as driving in reverse at 100 km/h through a narrow tunnel. Tenerife port was closed during summer 2023 to allow these modifications.
