Volkswagen ID. Buzz: Already 20,000 Units Sold

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is doing well. A commercial success supported by the very favorable reception of its new electric van, the ID. Buzz.

From January to September 2022, the operating profit of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles reached 356 million euros (compared to 301 million last year for the same period), and turnover also increased to 7.956 billion euros (2021: 7.3 billion euros for the same period). These impressive figures come despite the challenging economic context and a decline in sales, with 234,400 units delivered, a decrease of 18.2%. However, market share increased by 1%.

In the third quarter of 2022, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles launched the new generation of its best-selling pickup, Amarok, which now shares the spotlight with the new electric Volkswagen van called the ID. Buzz.

“Even before this model was available through our distribution channels, we managed to sell more than 20,000 units of the ID. Buzz thanks to pre-orders,” rejoices Lars Krause, member of the brand’s Management Board in charge of sales and marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. “We anticipate a new increase in sales once it is displayed in showrooms. As for the successor to the Amarok, whose sales are expected to begin by the end of the year, it is also in the starting blocks. These two new models undoubtedly contribute to significantly increasing our brand’s attractiveness.”

Volkswagen ID. Buzz is available in two versions: one for private customers and a professional version called ID. Buzz Cargo. Thanks to its 77 kWh battery, the VW ID. Buzz promises up to 419 km of range in WLTP mixed cycle and an electric consumption between 20.8 and 21.7 kWh/100 km according to the German manufacturer. As a reminder, the base price is set at 56,990 € for the private version and benefits from a ecological bonus of 2,000 €.
