Twike 5: 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h for this astonishing electric tricycle

Do you think that all electric cars look the same? The Twike 5, a quirky two-seater tricycle equipped with a small 95 hp electric motor, might just catch your eye. Its design and technical specifications are quite different from those of a traditional automobile. It has only three wheels, aiming to minimize weight and friction to maximize range. Thanks to its limited mass, the Twike 5 could go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 km/h!

The vehicle will also allow the driver and passenger to pedal to recharge the batteries while “ keeping in shape .” And depending on the size of the battery you choose, it will require quite some physical effort to fully recharge them. The base model will be equipped with a 15 kWh pack, but it can go up to 30 kWh in the top version. This latest version will boast a maximum range of 500 km according to WLTP standards, thanks to a limited consumption of 6.9 kWh/100 km. Impressive, but beware of sharp turns with such performance and only one wheel in the front. This tricycle will be very expensive: between 39,900 and 49,900 euros depending on the battery. Its commercialization is expected to begin in 2022, but it will be limited to 500 units.
