The Renault 4 Savane 4×4 passes the qualifiers at Roland-Garros

With the Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept, the spirit of chic urban adventure makes its way to the Roland-Garros tournament.
For the fourth consecutive year, Renault is a partner of the Roland-Garros tennis tournament, which takes place from May 19 to June 8, 2025. At a stand, the brand with the diamond logo will showcase several appealing models, including the Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept, the devilish Renault 5 Turbo 3E, and the special edition Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros. Official transporter of the tournament, Renault will also provide a fleet of 187 vehicles, mainly electric and hybrid, as well as two autonomous shuttles for spectators.

The Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept, unveiled as a preview on this occasion, revisits the heritage of the Renault 4 icon by adding a touch of modernity and enhanced off-road capabilities. Claiming a chic and adventurous “gentleman explorer” spirit, it features a second electric motor on the rear axle to provide permanent all-wheel drive. This configuration allows it to easily navigate across varied terrains, whether muddy, snowy, or rough.
Little extras that make a big difference
Based on the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, the Savane version benefits from a raised ground clearance of 15 mm, wider track of 10 mm, and specific 18-inch wheels fitted with Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ tires. This concept car showcases the potential of the AmpR Small platform to design compact, robust, and versatile electric vehicles.

In terms of design, an exclusive Jade Green color combined with Glossy Black elements gives the model a bold style. A graphic pattern on the roof adds a subtle visual touch, while specific logos and modern 3D components update the classic lines of the Renault 4.
The interior is designed to be durable yet refined, with deep brown refined fabric seats, discreet graphic motifs, and tone-on-tone topstitching. An illuminated “4Savane” logo completes the ensemble, creating an elegant and contemporary atmosphere.

If the neo-retro approach of the Renault 4 is, in our opinion, a bit vague and not sufficiently assertive to fully captivate, the Savane demonstrates that by letting go of this heritage, the platform and concept reveal true potential. A bolder and more modern direction, like that of this 4×4 version, proves promising. If the concept car moves toward production, it’s more than encouraging!
