The Peugeot Inception: Star of the Future at the Paris Motor Show

Peugeot Inception

Four-door coupe with a false resemblance to the Peugeot 505, the Inception concept will be one of the attractions at the Mondial.

Unveiled at the Vivatech show earlier this year, the Inception concept will take its place at the Peugeot stand at the Mondial de l’Auto, which opens its doors in two weeks. It provides a glimpse into the near future of the Sochaux brand, particularly regarding Peugeot models that will be produced starting in 2026. Following the departure of its “star” designer Gilles Vidal in the summer of 2020, Peugeot confirms its desire to continue offering a strong design under the leadership of Matthias Hossann, the new design director of the French brand. Launched before his arrival, the Peugeot Inception concept car is the result of a partnership with designer Emeric Tchatchoua, founder of the 3.PARADIS brand.

The dimensions of the concept are American-sized, with a generous length of five meters but a height limited to 1.34 m, which aims to improve aerodynamics. It is therefore far from the best-selling SUVs E-3008 and E-5008 but close to the fabulous Peugeot 505 for its front optics and the Peugeot 504 Phase 1 coupe for its rear lights.

On the technical side, the Inception concept is based on the STLA Large platform from the Stellantis Group, which will equip all future large sedans. And as extravagance is characteristic of prototypes, the electric motor here provides 680 hp, allowing it to achieve 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds! Equipped with all-wheel drive to limit traction losses, the Peugeot Inception would consume only 12.5 kWh/100 km. It’s uncertain whether we’ll have the chance to verify this someday!
