The new Tesla update is going to make some noise!

Tesla has launched a very particular update for the Cybertruck. Watch out ears.

Tesla continues to showcase its expertise in quirky software updates. The latest example is the manufacturer deploying an update that allows changing the sound of the Tesla Cybertruck horn directly via the mobile app. Owners of the Cybertruck have shared screenshots of a message received on the Tesla app. This message explains that the new horn sound can be downloaded and activated from the app. Tesla also specifies that this update is… permanent!

This choice is not at all obvious, as we remind you that the horn is an essential safety and communication element on the road. It allows alerting other users in case of immediate danger, such as an imminent collision or the presence of an obstacle. Beyond its preventive function, it also serves to signal your presence in low visibility situations, such as at intersections or in bad weather. But it now seems that the horn also has a social dimension to greet or express emotions. Nothing very new since the Cucaracha, then.

Videos shared on social media show the new horn in action. It features a futuristic tone that somewhat recalls the sound effects from Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise. This choice of sound enhances the impression that the Cybertruck could be straight out of a science fiction movie.

The Cybertruck is the first vehicle to fully embody Tesla’s futuristic design. Despite the recent presentation of the Cybercab and Robovan during the “We, Robot” event, the Cybertruck still stands out for its angular, bold, and rugged aesthetic. It’s therefore not so surprising that its new horn is as original as its appearance.
