The cheap Kia EV2 threat becomes clearer

Kia continues the development of its electric lineup and announces that by 2025, three ambitious models will be released, including the highly anticipated EV2.

Kia is gearing up to make a strong impression with three new electric vehicles revealed during its “Kia EV Day” on February 27. Among them are the Kia EV4, the PV5, and especially, a concept previewing a new small entry-level electric vehicle: the Kia EV2.

The Kia EV2, which will be presented as a concept, is a compact city car positioned as a serious alternative to the Renault 5 and Citroën ë-C3. Unlike the Hyundai Inster, which is more focused on the entry-level segment, the EV2 seems somewhat more ambitious. It will likely share some technical components with the Kia EV3 while being more compact and affordable. The South Korean manufacturer clearly states its ambitions: to conquer a segment dominated by European brands through advanced technology and modern design.

From very small to very large

The EV4, the electric successor to the Ceed, is a compact that is set to become a key model in the lineup. Available in sedan and probably hatchback versions, it is built on the E-GMP platform and promises a range of up to 600 km. This model directly targets the electric compact segment, but the real surprise comes from another vehicle.

The latest novelty, the Kia PV5, is a 100% electric utility vehicle designed to compete with the Ford Transit and Volkswagen Transporter. With its bold design and connected features, it aims to establish itself in the commercial vehicle segment.

With the introduction of these three models, the Korean brand intensifies its electric strategy and targets key segments of the European market. The Renault 5 and Citroën ë-C3 will face formidable competition represented by the Kia EV2. The race is on, and February 27 will mark a turning point in the battle of small electric vehicles.
