The Mind-Blowing Fuel Consumption of the New Electric Hummer

The American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published the results of the new Hummer’s consumption, a huge drain on energy, which is not surprising at all.

Recently, the large Hummer SUV that we all know has transitioned from combustion to electric. However, for such a massive vehicle, it is obvious that it has a large battery. A while ago, General Motors explained to the site insideevs that the vehicle would not be rated by the EPA. As they say, never say never. Recently, the same site noticed that the new Hummer had been rated by the EPA, and the results are not good.

An astonishing consumption

The GMC Hummer EV’s energy consumption matches its size, which is enormous. The EPA revealed that the Hummer consumes 40 kWh per 100 kilometers on average. To compare, Elon Musk’s company’s SUV, the Tesla Model Y, consumes 18 kWh per 100 kilometers. This is a difference of 22 kWh every 100 kilometers. An outrageous level of energy consumption. To give you an idea, each vehicle is rated by the EPA; the various Hummer EV models (EV Pickup MT Tires, EV Pickup, EV SUV, EV SUV MT Tyres) all have ratings between 50 and 53. A high score that does not necessarily mean they received a good rating, quite the opposite.

High consumption, but not such a great range

There are two different range figures. The first is 505 kilometers of range on the EPA cycle for the EV Pickup and EV SUV models. For the latter two, the announced range is approximately 480 kilometers on EPA cycles.
