DS No. 8 Shows a High but Expected Price

Presented at the end of 2024, the DS N°8 is now available for order in Belgium. Delivery in France is expected shortly!

With its record-breaking range of 750 km thanks to a 98 kWh battery, this Premium sedan respects the prices announced by DS and reveals some advantages compared to the competition. The Belgian configurator reveals that the DS N°8 starts at €58,025.99 for a range of 571 km according to the WLTP cycle, thanks to a 73 kWh battery. To reach 750 km, you need to choose the larger capacity battery, available from €62,337.99. The all-wheel-drive version, offering 350 hp and a 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, peaks at €73,901.99.

The DS N°8 shares its technical platform with the Peugeot E-3008, which results in a substantial weight. However, the sedan adopts a much more refined aerodynamics than the French Lion’s wardrobe. This design work allows the DS N°8 to offer optimized performance and autonomy, placing it in a strong position in its segment.

The range is divided into two trims: Pallas and Étoile. The Pallas version includes 19-inch wheels, a 16-inch central screen, and adaptive cruise control. The Étoile trim, costing an additional €7,056, adds Alcantara upholstery, head-up display, and matrix headlights. It’s a pity that only five generally dull colors are offered. For the elegant two-tone gold version on display, you’ll have to wait a bit and, of course, pay much more!

Compared to its main German competitors, the DS N°8 remains competitive in terms of price and range. But one can’t help feeling that it lacks a little soul, especially when seen in plain paint, without its gala trappings. Ordinary? Disappointing? Too timid? Too French? A bit of all that.
