Do you know why the prices of the Renault Scenic are fluctuating?

We left the Renault Scenic 3 months ago with a very attractive new LLD financing offer at 250 euros per month. As a reminder, the principle of LLD is simple with a limited down payment and reasonable monthly installments. No need to drain your bank account to purchase the car, and at the end of the fixed period, you return it, paying only for any repairs needed.

But a quarter later, the Ecological Bonus was cut by the government(s), and the time is no longer to celebrate for the beautiful 100% electric SUV with the diamond-shaped Renault logo.

Renault claims that the initial higher rent is “only” 4,500 euros compared to 5,000 previously, but this is conditioned on a 4,000 euro bonus. The first problem is that this amount is reserved for the most modest households who likely have better uses for their limited income than buying a premium SUV. As a result, with the Bonus for All of 2,000 euros, you need to shell out 6,500 euros before getting the vehicle.

To keep this down payment at a reasonable level, Renault has had to increase the rent amount from 250 to 270 euros. This might seem negligible, but over 37 months, it adds up. Most importantly, we expect the price of a car to decrease as it ages, not the opposite.

On the positive side, the warranty is aligned with the rental period, so there’s no need to promise 8 or 10-year guarantees you won’t have to fulfill. The included maintenance at 1 euro per month is also a guarantee of peace of mind. Lastly, Renault offers the first two months’ rents free, totaling a discount of 540 euros, and provides a charging station, worth a few hundred euros.

This offer is valid until the end of January 2025. Given that the incentives are unlikely to decrease and that the Renault will soon have to compete with the new Tesla Model Y, we can only advise you to wait a bit. The promotional machine will need to restart soon!
