Tesla Model Y 2023: reduced price and eco-friendly bonus

Like the Model 3, the Tesla Model Y is pricing itself to take advantage of the new 2023 ecological bonus.

Strangely, the Tesla Model Y had become the most affordable electric car in the brand’s lineup. However, it is larger, and should logically be more expensive than the Model 3. Yet, this last model saw its prices soar in 2022, up to €3,500 more than the electric SUV. Nonetheless, the situation is returning to normal at the start of 2023, as both the sedan and the Model Y have significantly lowered in price.

Tesla Model Y drops from €8,000 to €10,000

On January 13, 2023, the Tesla Model Y lowered its starting price to €46,990, from €49,990. The Propulsion version, which has a range of 455 km and rear-wheel drive, was introduced to the French market in August with an initial bonus of €2,000. However, with the change in the terms and amounts of the 2023 bonus, the American SUV no longer benefited from it as of January 1, 2023.

Now, with its new price, the Model Y Propulsion additionally recovers the full €5,000 bonus, and even €7,000 for those earning less than €14,089/year (taxable income, variable if children in the household). The total price reduction thus ranges from €8,000 to €10,000 depending on income.

The Tesla Model Y Long Range variant sees a much larger decrease. Unable to benefit from the 2023 bonus, it drops by €9,000, to €53,990. This is less dramatic for the more powerful Performance version. This model drops from €69,990 to €63,990, a €6,000 reduction from before.
