Tesla Model 3: Goodbye White Interior, Here Comes the New Zen Gray
Tesla evolves the interior of its Model 3 with a Zen Grey upholstery, a black headliner, and a larger screen.
Has the bright white of Tesla’s seats seen its day? In several markets, the Model 3 is abandoning this iconic option in favor of an ambiance called “Zen Grey.” A lighter, more discreet grey that refreshes the interior atmosphere without disrupting the layout of the electric sedan.
This change specifically affects the Premium versions, also called Long Range in some countries, and Performance models sold in China, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Black remains an option. Unlike the Model Y, where Zen Grey covers more surfaces, the Model 3 retains a more measured approach: the previously white elements mainly adopt this new shade.
Less dirty, more elegant
However, the evolution isn’t limited to the seats. The Model 3 updated for these markets also receives a black headliner. This gives the interior a more enveloping appearance, and a visually sportier feel, although fans of light atmospheres may miss the previous light decor.
Another new feature: the central screen increases from 15.4 to 16 inches. The gain in diagonal size is modest, but it accompanies an improvement in definition. The overall presentation remains true to the brand’s minimalism, with most functions grouped on this display.
For French buyers, the question remains open. As of October 2, we have not found any official confirmation regarding the availability of Zen Grey, its price, or the first deliveries. This is an evolution to watch before configuring your next Model 3.
