Retro 2024 – The Incredible Xiaomi SU7 Surprise

2024 marks the emergence of a new star in the electric vehicle market: the Xiaomi SU7.

This elegant and sporty electric sedan, launched in China on March 28, 2024, exceeded all expectations to establish itself as an essential reference. With more than 130,000 units delivered in just nine months, Xiaomi has surpassed its annual goal, originally set at 100,000 sales, in a market that is nonetheless in recession.

The SU7 immediately generated enthusiasm, recording 50,000 orders within 27 minutes of its launch. Priced between 215,900 and 229,900 yuan (28,370 to 30,210 euros), this mid-to-high-end sedan managed to win over the Chinese public despite initial production issues. Thanks to a rapid increase in manufacturing capacity, Xiaomi reached a monthly production rate of 20,000 units by June 2024.

To infinity and beyond!

The numbers speak for themselves. After a slow start, since November 15, the manufacturer has delivered an additional 30,000 cars. In December alone, sales peaked at 16,500 units, bringing the total annual to 130,000. These results, achieved in less than a year, confirm an incredible alignment of stars for Xiaomi, which is no coincidence. Style, price, technology, image—nothing has been left to chance.

Xiaomi does not plan to stop there. A second factory is scheduled for 2026, allowing for further production increases. Two new models are already announced for 2025: the SU7 Ultra with three motors and the YU7 SUV with Ferrari Purosangue-inspired styling. These innovations will further strengthen Xiaomi’s presence in the Chinese market.
