Mobilize Duo: The New Twizy from the Renault Group

The Renault group has just unveiled the final version of the Duo, a small electric quadricycle that follows the same formula as the Twizy. The vehicle will be sold by Mobilize, which will only offer rental options.

Ultra-compact at 2.43 meters long and one meter 30 wide, the Duo features gull-wing doors, similar to the Twizy. The closed cabin can accommodate two people. To facilitate passenger access, the driver’s seat slides forward by 20 cm. The dashboard, rudimentary but customizable, is topped with a cubic instrument cluster designed to evoke “emblematic portable hi-fi systems of hip hop culture”. The steering wheel is equipped with an airbag, a rare feature in the quadricycle category.

The anthracite and orange bodywork can be personalized on the strip below the windshield, the pillars, or the door handles. The front and rear bumpers are identical, similar to the Citroën AMI. This approach helps to reduce both manufacturing and repair costs.

The range of this small electric vehicle will reach approximately 140 km. The catalog will include two versions: a Duo limited to 45 km/h, accessible without a license like the AMI, as well as an 80 km/h version that will require a category B license.

Mobilize Bento, the utility variant

Mobilize also plans to market a single-seater utility derivative called Bento. The vehicle will feature a 700-liter rear cargo box and will have a hatch on the right side of the driver, allowing for a longer loading length.

With this new model, the Renault Group aims to reach a versatile customer base. Mobility operators, professionals seeking a small electric vehicle for last-mile delivery, corporate fleets, individuals: the target audiences are numerous, and all will require rental options. For private individuals, the minimum subscription period will be 3 months.

The Mobilize Duo will be available from late 2023. The Bento will arrive in 2024.
