Porsche Taycan GTS, the true sports car of the lineup?

In the Porsche catalog, the GTS trim is historically the most appealing, combining understated and sporty design, and exemplary finish.

Following the modernization of its Taycan in mid-2024, notably with an updated battery and exterior, which greatly increased the driving range, here is Porsche rolling out its lineup. The highly desirable GTS trim (Sedan and Sport Turismo station wagon) for Gran Turismo Sport, as well as a new Taycan 4 with XXL range. With these additions, the Taycan range now comprises 16 versions. Concurrently, these two new versions introduce a 320 kW charging power, now available at 800-volt charging stations.

The Taycan GTS now delivers a power output of 700 horsepower (515 kW) when Launch Control mode is active and power is transmitted to all four wheels. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.4 seconds. The GTS positions itself between the entry-level and top-tier in the lineup, which ranges from 408 to 1034 horsepower. As for range, it extends up to 628 kilometers in WLTP mixed cycle.

Aesthetically, the front and rear bumpers feature sportier black inserts, and the 20-inch wheels are specific to this model. The chassis also benefits from optional rear-wheel steering, which significantly enhances driving agility. Inside, the seats and contact points are made from Race-Tex material.

The price of the GTS sedan is set at 152,530 euros in France, but note that there are no longer any environmental taxes that traditionally burden thermal sports cars these days. The Sport Turismo body style is priced at 153,534 euros.

An All-Wheel Drive Taycan 4

The more “modest” Porsche Taycan 4 is the new entry-level all-wheel drive model in the Taycan lineup. Its power is similar to the two-wheel drive version, at 300 kW or 408 horsepower. With the optional Performance Plus battery, this power increases to 320 kW or 435 horsepower.

With the standard battery, the range reaches 559 km, while the Performance Plus version extends it to 643 km, only 35 km less than the 80 kg lighter two-wheel drive Taycan. However, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is quicker at just 4.6 seconds.

Its price starts at 110,088 euros, and the Sport Turismo body style is not available yet.
