Porsche Macan

Porsche delivered nearly 150,000 vehicles in the first half of 2025, with the electric Macan becoming the best-seller of the German brand.

Porsche continues to evolve its business model towards electrification without sacrificing its volumes. In the first half of 2025, the Stuttgart-based brand delivered 146,391 vehicles worldwide. More than a third of them (36.1%) are electrified, including 23.5% of fully electric models and 12.6% of plug-in hybrids. This is a notable increase of 14.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024.

The Electric Macan Establishes Itself

This shift towards electric is largely driven by the new Macan, available since early 2024 in its battery version. The compact SUV has become Porsche’s best-selling model worldwide, with 45,137 units delivered in six months, up 15%. Nearly 60% of these Macans (25,884 units) are already fully electric versions. The older thermal model continues to be offered in several markets outside the European Union.

The recently refreshed Panamera also shows impressive performance with 14,975 vehicles delivered, a 13% increase.

The North American market remains Porsche’s top sales region, with 43,577 vehicles delivered in the first half (+10%). This is the best result ever recorded during this period for the region, proving that the global crisis is relatively subdued. This trend is attributed to better vehicle availability and protective tariff measures in response to rising import duties.

Emerging and international markets also saw a 10% increase, with 30,158 deliveries, setting a new record.

In contrast, Europe (excluding Germany) experienced an 8% decline, with 35,381 deliveries. The German market plummeted by 23% (15,973 units), mainly due to a boosted first half of 2024 influenced by recovery effects.

In China, Porsche is facing a significant drop of 28%, with 21,302 units delivered, due to a challenging economy in the luxury segment and intensified competition. The brand remains focused on a value-oriented sales strategy, carefully adjusting supply to demand.

The Thermal Models Suffer More

While the Macan and the Panamera stand out, other models are seeing declines in sales. The iconic 911 recorded 25,608 deliveries, down 9%, a decline attributed to the end of the previous model’s life cycle and the gradual introduction of new versions.

The 718 Boxster and Cayman, hindered by European cybersecurity regulations, fell by 12% (10,496 units). Their production will cease at the end of 2025, before the expected arrival of an entirely electric generation.

The Taycan, the electric flagship of the lineup, is also seeing a slight decline with 8,302 deliveries (-6%), while the Cayenne (soon to be renewed and electric as well) is experiencing a more marked decline of 23% (41,873 units), a consequence of a catch-up effect in 2024.

Despite a slight overall decline of 6% compared to 2024, Porsche is pleased to have maintained a balance between different geographic areas. The manufacturer intends to continue prioritizing profitability over quantity, according to the “value over volume” strategy.

Porsche is counting on a fully renewed range to meet the expectations of an increasingly diverse clientele in terms of powertrains and customization. This is a clear commitment to combine prestige, performance, and energy transition. With the effect of Tesla waning, wealthy customers are now returning to prestigious dealerships, with Porsche leading the way. This is good for morale.
