Peugeot e-208 Like: a new version with increased range

The Peugeot e-208 with the longest range is also the cheapest.

Peugeot completes the range of the e-208 with an entry-level “Like” trim. Less expensive, this new version is logically slightly more spartan in equipment than the other electric 208s. However, it offers better range.

The e-208 Active benefits from improvements to the battery. Its capacity increases to 52 kWh, a gain of 2 kWh. Currently, the e-208 Active has exclusive access to this new battery. Other versions of the electric city car retain the 50 kWh one.

The range is not yet specified in the commercial brochure, but according to information leaked from an internal document, it should reach 400 km. By comparison, the e-208 is credited with a range of 362 km with the 50 kWh battery.

The electric motor, however, has not been modified. It still delivers 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque.

Better equipped than the thermal Peugeot 208

The Like trim was already available on the thermal 208. It offers a higher level of equipment on the e-208, which comes standard with automatic single-zone climate control, keyless start system, a 3.5-inch analog head-up display, a 7-inch touchscreen, and traffic sign recognition. In terms of appearance, the Peugeot e-208 Like sports body-colored grille and black plastics around the wheel arches. The 16-inch steel wheels have plastic wheel covers. Inside, the seats feature a black mixed fabric upholstery with orange stitching.

The new Peugeot e-208 Like starts at €33,000 (excluding a €6,000 ecological bonus), which is €1,550 less than the Active, which was previously the entry-level model. Alongside cash purchase options, Peugeot offers a leasing plan starting at €208/month, after a down payment of €3,900.
