Over €5,000 off on the Renault Megane Electric, but is it really a good deal?

Some electric Renault Megane models benefit from discounts exceeding €5,000, but their status and the arrival of the facelifted model suggest looking beyond the strike-through price.

There are good deals at Renault, provided you know what you are buying. In the dealer network’s stock, several Megane E-Tech electric models currently feature substantial discounts. In Chambéry, a 220 hp Techno model has a discount of €5,260: its price drops from €40,750 to €35,490, before incentives. In Angers, another Techno enjoys a €4,500 reduction.

The first essential detail: these units are demonstration vehicles, already registered. In Lons-le-Saunier, a discounted Esprit Alpine with a €4,514 reduction has accumulated 9,000 kilometers. Thus, you also purchase a usage history, which justifies part of the discount.

The model evolves, its prices do too

The second, more decisive element: the Megane has just evolved. The modernized version receives a 67 kWh LFP battery, announces around 500 kilometers of range, and promises a recharge from 15 to 80% in 24 minutes. Its equipment also improves. In this context, clearing out previous models appears commercially logical.

Furthermore, the new Techno starts at €37,500 before incentives. The old model offered in Chambéry therefore costs only €2,010 less, subject to equipment differences. The spectacular discount shrinks when you change the reference!

Finally, the displayed prices may already include a Coup de Pouce bonus. This depends on the buyer’s eligibility and is not a discount from the dealer.

To score a real deal, it’s best to compare model generation, mileage, equipment, and prices before incentives. The percentage of the discount alone does not tell the whole story.
