Opel Corsa GSE

Opel fine-tunes the final adjustments of its new Corsa GSE, a 100% electric and sporty version of the German city car, during intensive testing at the legendary Nürburgring.

Just weeks after the official announcement of its arrival by the end of the year, the upcoming Opel Corsa GSE headed to the Eifel for a series of tests on the Nürburgring. The famous track, known for its extreme conditions and long straights alternating with technical corners, serves as an ideal testing ground to refine the specific GSE chassis of this electric compact.

The goal is clear: to transform the best-selling Corsa in Germany into an accessible sports car, capable of delivering dynamic sensations with zero local emissions. The sports chassis receives custom tuning for the accelerator, steering, and ESC, optimized to make the most of the electric motor’s power (around 280 hp according to information already communicated about the Stellantis group’s sibling models including the Peugeot 208 GTI). On the Nordschleife, the engineers focus on balance, road holding, and handling limits to ensure that the production version is as refined as possible.

100% Electric Fun

“The Opel Corsa GSE will be the next model to join the GSE family. Our ambition is to allow everyone to enjoy the performance of a 100% electric sporty compact and dynamic driving sensations,” stated Marcus Lott, member of the Opel Executive Board.
