New record with 916.74 km on a single charge!

It is often claimed that the announced record ranges exceed actual ranges, but this is not always the case.

This record is credited to Bridgestone and its fleet management subsidiary Webfleet. It was achieved by two development drivers from the manufacturer, Kevin Booker and Sam Clarke, both of whom hold previous records for fuel economy and energy consumption for electric vehicles. They now accumulate 5 and 2 records of this type, respectively. They were assisted by their co-driver Richard Parker. Their choice was a Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV, equipped, of course, with Bridgestone tires.

“Breaking this record was a fantastic adventure and an important demonstration of what electric vehicles can achieve, said Kevin Booker. It’s amazing to see how much technology and efficiency of electric vehicles have progressed. We hope this will encourage more people to use electric vehicles for their daily commutes.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range Propulsion, equipped with 18-inch wheels, was selected for its technology. This car has an ideal base with its 91 kWh battery, granting it a WLTP range of 600 kilometers. As you can quickly calculate, it is still missing over 300 to reach this record! The drivers had to show truly high-precision pedal control to achieve an astonishing average of 10.05 kilometers per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The record, to be certified by the Guinness World Record, was set on open roads in the UK, through Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, and Suffolk. A 24-hour journey, including a mix of urban and rural roads to replicate real driving conditions.
