New MINI Countryman: 100% Electric!

A new version of the MINI Countryman will be produced in Germany for the first time starting in November 2023.

The British brand is thus planning to expand its fleet of electric vehicles by offering a 100% electric version of their flagship model, the MINI Countryman.

With a new electric motorization and some aesthetic modifications, the new MINI Countryman will be less polluting. A welcome news for MINI drivers who can enjoy a cleaner vehicle that is still comfortable. The British manufacturer aims to further strengthen its position in the electric car sales market. BMW Group today announced that one in five MINI vehicles is already electric.

2023 Model Updates

The main selling point of this new model is the motorization, available in MINI Countryman E with 140 kW/191 hp or MINI Countryman SE ALL4 with 230 kW/313 hp. A dual motor (front/rear) is present on the Countryman SE ALL4 model, which may improve weight distribution on snow and in less urban conditions.

Furthermore, the new MINI Countryman is larger. It now measures 4.43 meters in length (+13 centimeters compared to the current generation) and has increased in height by six centimeters to reach 1.613 meters. This means the new model will offer more comfort for its passengers.

Inside the vehicle, in a commitment to ecology, the following elements are made from recycled polyester:

• Dashboard;
• Headliner;
• Steering wheel;
• Flooring;
• Floor mats.

The British brand announced yesterday that the new MINI will undergo aesthetic changes impacting its carbon footprint. All “traditional exterior and interior decorative elements” will be removed, and the alloy wheels will be partly made from secondary aluminum.

The electric version of the MINI Countryman will be the third generation of the vehicle, previously released in 2017 and 2010. With these innovations, it will offer something new and up to date!
