Nevertheless, we will have to wait a little longer before this adorable vehicle cruises the streets of our cities.

The famous Isetta is back, in a form that unmistakably evokes the original model. At least on the outside, the lines haven’t changed much, and the front-opening door is still there. However, there are technical changes, as the new model marks the end of internal combustion. It will only be offered with an electric motor, which allows it to reach a top speed of 90 km/h.

A Swiss project

Named Microlino, the modern Isetta has been developed by Micro Mobility, a Swiss company specialized in small electric vehicles. Started several years ago, the project faced many difficulties but is finally expected to come to fruition. Although deliveries have not yet begun, reservations are now open, and the configurator has just been launched.

Certified in the category of heavy quadricycles, the car is accessible with a simple B125 license. Its range peaks at 230 km with the largest of the three batteries offered, with a capacity of 14 kWh. The intermediate battery (10.5 kWh) allows for 177 km per charge, while the smallest (6 kWh) limits the driving range to 91 km.

Welcome aboard the new electric Isetta.

The prices of the Microlino start at 14,990 euros. The lineup is structured around four trims with varying equipment levels: Urban, Dolce, Competizione, and a limited “Pionner Series” launch edition limited to 999 units.

The Dolce, which forms the core of the range, is the only version available with all three batteries. The options are more limited for the Competizione and Pioneer Edition, while the entry-level Urban model only offers the small battery.

First deliveries in a few weeks

Priority will be given to the Pioneer Edition, with deliveries expected to begin this summer in Switzerland. Next, the Dolce and Competizione will arrive in Italy and Germany by late 2022 / early 2023, while the Urban will start expanding across the rest of the Europe, including France, in the second quarter of 2023.
